Basic Handgun 1 – Introduction to Handguns Course Overview

This 4-hour course is designed for new or prospective handgun owners, or those with limited shooting experience. The course combines classroom and range training to introduce students to handguns.

Firearm Rentals

Available from Basic Firearms Training for $15 each:

Note: No outside ammunition is allowed in firearm rentals. Students must purchase ammunition from Basic Firearms Training at the time of the course. Ammunition purchases are cash only. Please call or email for current

Ammunition

• Students need 50 rounds of ammunition for this class

Course Completion Requirements

• Attend the entire 4-hour course

• No safety violations

• Receive a certificate of completion

What to Bring

• Valid driver license or state-issued ID

• Eye and ear protection

• Firearm with at least 2 magazines or speed loaders (unless renting)

• 50 rounds of ammunition (unless renting a firearm)

• Note-taking materials

• Safe and positive attitude, open mind

• Snacks and beverages

Note: Course length may vary depending on class size and other factors. Allow extra time in case the class goes over 4 hours.
