Meet Our Founder
An Instructor Committed to Safe and Effective Training
In 1997, I enlisted in the United States Army and served 4 years on active duty, deploying to Bosnia in 1998. After being discharged in July 2001, I joined the California Army National Guard and served there until 2005.
In 2005, I graduated from a POST Peace Officers Basic Course and began working for a special district in Northern California performing security operations and public safety duties.
In 2013, I attended a POST firearms instructor course and became a firearms instructor for my department. I served as our department’s lead firearms instructor for 10 years.
In 2015, I obtained my BSIS firearms instructor license and began conducting BSIS courses and qualifications.

Experience & Vision
Building Skills, Proficiency, and Confidence for Every Student
As lead instructor, I selected and trained with a team of skilled firearms instructors, working with our local sheriff's office to develop and maintain a high-quality training program.
I coordinated department training, including firearms, PC 832 Arrest, Search & Seizure, Emergency Vehicle Operations, Active Shooter Response, and more, collaborating with outside agencies and public safety training facilities.
In 2016, I founded Basic Firearms Training to provide CCW and BSIS Exposed Firearms Permit courses. Since 2012, I have continued attending instructor level courses to ensure training remains current and relevant.
My goal is to expand course offerings and provide practical, safety-focused training that meets the evolving needs of our clients.
