Utah Concealed Firearms Permit (CFP) Course Overview

Completion of the Utah Concealed Firearms Permit (CFP) course allows non-residents to apply for a non-resident Utah CFP. For Californians, the Utah CFP provides concealed carry coverage in additional states where a California CCW is not valid.

Note: Utah permits are not valid in California.

Provisional Permit Option

Utah offers a provisional permit for 18- to 20-year-olds. Training and application requirements are the same as a standard CFP. The provisional permit expires on the holder’s 21st birthday, after which it must be converted to a standard CFP. Some states only accept standard permits, so verify laws before travelling.
